Ernest Hemingway, who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1954, dedicated some of the finest pages of “Across the River and into the Trees”, to Caorle. Published in America in 1950 and in Italy in 1965, the novel describes the places, landscapes and atmospheres that still make the Caorle lagoon special today.
